Doug & Cheska

I loved Cheska's look here... very romantic and sophisticated. Puey Quinones made the gown which, I think, at that time revolutionized the fashion sense of brides in the Philippines. I think the look is majestic! I also think that Cheska popularized the kind of wedding veil that led to many new brides copying her style. I think Cheska must be very happy and proud to be copied. She really inspired women to step out and showcase their great fashion taste and style in what better event than their own weddings! Monumental.

Ryan Eigenmann marries Cathy Bordalba

I couldn't find a video of them but this gallery of their lovely wedding photos from cherryblocks. See more here:

This is funny. Actually, Coconut Palace was also one of the options we had for our wedding. At that time we were still searching for a venue, the price here is way, way cheaper than all the other venues in the area - One Esplanade, Palacio de Maynila, etc. However, there was a problem since the place used to be government-owned is about to be privatized. Probably, eventually when the new owner took over the price have changed. Anyway, I didn't care anymore. This was just one option just in case the out-of-town beach wedding that we originally planned won't push through because there were a lot of concerns from relatives and friends traveling far for a wedding. Eventually, we pushed with the original idea - out-of-town wedding! It was a beach wedding in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas where my then-fiance-now-husband and I, and our relatives, had never been to. We went for what we wanted and we are happy we got the support of relatives and friends. We are very grateful to all.

Going back to Ryan Eigenmann's wedding... It's weird because prior to the official announcement of said wedding, my friend saw him dating Paula Taylor - remember from Amazing Race Asia, model and VJ from Thailand, was linked to Marc Nelson? I even didn't believe my friend when she implied that they were a couple when she saw them together. You know how it is when you see a couple, right? You can just instinctively draw conclusion if they indeed are a couple or not? Well, I just wonder because they say Carla is a long-time girlfriend of Ryan. Whatever it is, I am happy for them ending up together.

To everyone who gets married, my hopes and prayers are always that it will be a lifetime partnership. Cheers to all the married ones and stay happily married to infinity and beyond!

Malasian&Taiwanese wed in Boracay, Philippines

Malaysian-born singer Fish Leong married Taiwanese businessman Tony Chao in Discovery Shores Boracay. Come to think of it, the bride looks similar to Philippine comedienne Tuesday Vargas who also got married in the same venue in the same year. See the video of Fish & Tony's wedding here:

I've seen Tuesday's wedding video just days after her Bora wedding in June 2010. Actually, back in my wedding planning days, I also considered Discovery Shores as one of the options. I read in one the wedding mags I bought (Wedding Essentials Destination Weddings edition) that the 7-star hotel offers wedding packages. I've seen a lot of photos of Manila's elite getting married here. They're all over the mags, actually. Well, there's nothing really new in seeing foreigners getting married in Boracay. Even my Japanese boss got married here (not at Discovery but at Friday's though) bringing here their families to witness the event. There's also one Japanese client who got married in Amanpulo. This is to say that the Philippines really has the best beaches! For me, Boracay is the best. I love this Island and I can always go back for more.

a beautiful wedding at Bellarocca

This is a site to behold! What I felt seeing this wedding video is inexplicable. I really love, not only the video itself, but the landscape and the grand view. Lovely! Very lovely indeed!

See it for yourself:

That was the wedding of model Vanessa Matsunaga, sister of Brazilian-Japanese model/actor Daniel Matsunaga who is also Heart Evangelista's boyfriend, to her photographer boyfriend, Jun Sunga. I just love their wedding! I think it's the best wedding video I've seen so far.

Here's more. Jun & Vanessa's prenup teaser - a photographer and his model falling in love.

Rica Peralejo marries a pastor

After Juday's wedding, Rica's beach wedding followed closely and one of the talked-about weddings I remember back then. It was at this time when beach weddings seem to be regaining popularity (a long time after the Boracay weddings of G Toengi and Miriam Quiambao).

This was the time I was also busy preparing for my dream beach wedding. And as I was constantly "googleing" and searching through various wedding websites, I chanced upon Rica's beach wedding too. It was held at Kawayan Cove in Nasugbu, Batangas. Other than Laiya, I was also considering Nasugbu and Calatagan, Batangas then with more bias in Nasugbu since this is much closer (about 1.5-2.5 hours travel from Manila) and the idea that the road to and fro passes through Tagaytay was cool, I thought. Although Punta Fuego was my option back then since I didn't know anyone at that time who could endorse me to Kawayan Cove (exclusive to members like in Punta Fuego).

Rica's wedding to a pastor is a living testimony that we can always change for the better. Our past doesn't define us, especially our future. It is all in God's hands if we submit to His will. So I have to remind myself from time to time, since I constantly forget, to never judge.

Camille Pratts - the baby is now a mommy and, officially, a WIFEY

More popularly known as Princess Sarah / Sarah ang Munting Prinsesa when we were still kids, Camille Pratts is no baby anymore. Yes, we know that since she posed for FHM in 2006 (I never got hold of the mag itself but her photos circulated to our emails back then). She is now a mother and a wife. See her still princess-like in her wedding gown by Rajo Laurel in this video:

Ciara Sotto weds

What I can recall is watching Startalk one Saturday where Helen Gamboa admits crying over daughter, Ciara Sotto, getting married soon. She did and here's the video.

Roselle Nava marries BF of 9 years

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a fan. I just remember this girl from the old Ang TV days. I was in grade 4 or 5 back then and my crush there was Patrick Garcia. I remember the prettiest in the kids group was Katya Santos. And Roselle Nava belonged to the teens group who are in the age group of my Kuya. Roselle was one of the Ang TV singers to watch out for like Jolina Magdangal, Lindsay, Jan Marini, etc. Unfortunately, their singing career didn't really took off. Only Jolina somehow managed to stay longer in showbusiness among the singers group, though not really as a singer but a mix of whatever. Although now it seems she's not so visible again. But at least we know she's happy with her lovelife now with Mark Escueta. Since this blog is sort of a collection of celebrity wedding videos, I look forward to an engaged Jolina and Mark soon. Again, I am not a fan of either of them. I just love weddings by heart so.. just forgive me :-)

Banjo Albano & Sarah Meier

Since I got engaged, I ran through National Bookstore to purchase wedding magazines. At that time, I didn't really have a clear vision on how I wanted my wedding to look like. All I know back then was I wanted a beach wedding (by heart) but I was still open for other possibilities. I bought 3 mags at that particular bookstore rush, one of them is Mega with Sarah Meier on the cover. It was then I found out that this Model/MTV VJ is getting married - a church wedding since the couple already had a civil wedding. They already have a daughter at that time. What I remember learning from somewhere is that Sarah herself originally wanted a beach wedding but the "groom"'s family are Catholic and are quite "conservative" so, of course, a church wedding should be it. I remember reading that they initially booked at the church in Magallanes (sorry I forgot, the one near Asia Pacific College/Pasay High School, fronting the Skyway), but changed when Sarah found another church where she felt "it". Actually, I can relate to every bride who is in the process of finding "the venue". You will really have that "feel" where you could definitely envision yourself walking through the aisle at this certain spot. Well, but in my case, there were I think 2 other venues where I felt "it" but didn't end up getting it. I'm sure Regine Velasquez can relate to me because she experienced it too (They were turned down by a certain resort to hold their wedding there... seemingly due to security purpose since they have no less than the President as Groom's Man...). Anyway, almost 2 years after that wedding of Sarah Meier with Banjo Albano, I chanced upon this video of their wedding, as well as a teaser from their prenup. Sorry if this is not new to you since it was only now that I really became an avid follower of celebrity weddings. Maybe because I was too busy back then on my own wedding preps to search for them all. For whatever reason, I just gathered that they finally got married in Tagaytay. Love weddings!

Ryan & Juday

I have always loved the idea of weddings... Having raised from a huge clan, I remember witnessing lots of weddings since my childhood. Oh, but the funny part is I never had a flower girl experience until I reached 11! (Cute naman ako a... I swear! I could post some of my baby pics later...) But anyway, as early as 13 I started my bridesmaid experience. Perhaps more than half or maybe 90% of all my cousins' weddings, I was there as bridesmaid. Not to include, my brother who married twice (my first sister-in-law is already with our good Lord...) which automatically makes me a bridesmaid in both cases too. There was a time I got a bit worried that I may have always been a bridesmaid, but never a bride. Thank God that didn't happen. My dream BEACH WEDDING finally came true on October 30, 2010 at Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. The theme I so wanted was "casual, fun, no crying please..." and I got what I wanted, with NO RAIN at that (it was raining practically the whole week). So after I got hitched, my passion for weddings got even stronger. And so I now I decided to possibly follow all celebrity weddings (not necessarily sikat, kahit laos or starlet basta "pwede na" ding celebrity) and I want to share these with you. Enjoy!

To start off, who can ever go wrong with Ryan Agoncillo & Judy Ann Santos' wedding. Kilig!

It has long been idea that my boyfriend of, then, 5 years (when we got engaged) and I have a beach wedding. I so, so, so love the beach. I dream of a great view of the sea while uttering our marriage vows. Laiya, Batangas was already one of the options because, sorry, we cannot possibly afford a Boracay wedding and I want "somewhat" white sand, basta not black or gray. There were a bunch of ideas, only ideas until we come up with funds to start off the wedding planning. We were not so much in a hurry also because my brother is getting married in that year (2009) so we will have to push our wedding to 2010 instead. We originally planned 2010 anyway. Until... one morning in April, everyone was talking about Ryan & Juday's wedding in Balai Laiya. Oh, that was my original idea - to get married in Laiya! Though I wasn't a fan of either Ryan or Juday (until recently I bumped over Ryan at Greenbelt 5 and found that he indeed is really, really guwapo in person... kilig!), I fell in love with the sincere fun, joy and love that these 2 people seem to radiate. I was amazed seeing how much fun they had in their wedding. And so it became really an inspiration to me. Since then, my idea of a great wedding spells FUN, FUN, FUN! This wedding really left a mark on me as a bride-to-be. Clik this link to see this timeless film of Ryan & Juday's wedding by Jason Magbanua...
